State Park Overview
One of the oldest protected areas in the state is gaining popularity as a beautiful retreat in a metropolitan area.
Formerly a watershed for the city of Greenville, the 1,275-acre Paris Mountain features large stands of old growth hardwood forests that canopy over hiking and biking trails - family campground, picnic areas and Camp Buckhorn - group-camp complex.
The hardwoods are even more spectacular in the fall, when they produce the golds, reds and oranges of autumn.
Developed in 1935 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, the park continues to display CCC craftsmanship in several buildings and structures.
Boating
Boating and Boat Access Private boats are not allowed in the park lake.
Boat Rentals Canoes, kayaks, pedal boats and surfbike rentals are available Tues-Sun 11 a.m.530 p.m. from Memorial Day through the end of August, then select weekends into the fall.
Boat rentals are available contingent upon availability of lifeguards.
