State Park Overview
Relax in a woodland cottage where famed naturalist John James Audubon studied many birds, the subjects of his paintings, during the time he lived in Henderson, from 18102819.

The museum interprets Audubon?s life through his art and personal memorabilia, framed within a timeline of world events. The nature center features a wildlife observatory. And a giant bird?s nest is the centerpiece of the Discovery Center, with hands-on exhibits and educational programs.

The museum sells a variety of prints reproduced from Audubons collection and unique gifts to help you explore nature.

After visiting the museum, end your day with a relaxing game of golf on our 9-hole golf course.


Camping
Surround yourself with unspoiled, natural beauty in the 69-site campground. A central service building has showers and rest rooms. Picnic tables, grills and a playground are also available in the camping area.

Camping Rate is $20 per night for 2 adults. Each additional person over 16 years of age $3 per night. Pets are allowed if restrained. No advance reservations. Check out by 1PM, Central time.

Area Attractions
The Museum features four galleries that interpret Audubons life through his original works, personal effects and a world event time-line.

The Nature Center comprises three areas a wildlife Observation Room the Discovery Center with hands-on exhibits and the Learning Center, where the park naturalist and art educator conduct environmental and art programs.

The Challenge Course is a combination of activities designed to develop self confidence and team awareness. The course is available for groups and must be scheduled through the park naturalist.

Open year-round, 10 AM-5 PM daily. Closed Thanksgiving Day, one week during the Christmas holiday and New Years Day.
